It's a great refreshment in the heat. We were lucky; there weren't any people around, so we swam together.

As the only waterfall on the island, Taktak Falls is a unique change of pace from Siargao’s salt and surf. Located in the northern municipality of Santa Monica, it’s a refreshing freshwater stop that is usually combined with a trip to Alegria Beach or Pacifico. 🌊 The Experience Taktak is about 15 meters high, cascading down a rocky cliff into a deep, cool basin. * Tree Jumping: The "star" of the show is an arching tree that hangs over the pool. Locals often use it as a natural diving board. * Cliff Jumping: There are small ledges on the rock face you can climb to for a jump, but always depth-check first, as there are large boulders underwater. * Infrastructure: Unlike a raw jungle trek, this area is somewhat developed with concrete pathways, a small bridge, and basic picnic huts where you can rest. 📍 Location & Travel Time * Distance: It’s roughly 1.5 hours from General Luna (about 54km north). * The Route: It is located 10 minutes past the Santa Monica Pier. Wear sandals with good grip or walk very carefully. * Visit Santa Monica Pier: Since you’re already in the far north, don't miss the Santa Monica Pier (just a few minutes away). It's a long wooden pier that offers one of the best views of the sunset on the entire island. 🗺️ The Ultimate "North Island" Day Trip Since Taktak is a long drive, most people do this "Loop" in one day: * 7:00 AM: Leave General Luna (Stop at Coconut View Deck). * 8:30 AM: Maasin River (Rope Swing). * 10:00 AM: Pacifico Beach (Surf or Brunch at Common Ground). * 12:30 PM: Alegria Beach (Swimming and picnic lunch). * 2:30 PM: Taktak Falls (Freshwater dip to rinse off the salt). * 4:00 PM: Santa Monica Pier (Rest and photos). * 4:30 PM: Drive back south to catch the sunset on the way.

The water wasn’t clean. It’s far from General Luna.
