An exciting first-time experience. So many people walking in every direction. Go and come back, and then you can get on with your business.

As a New Yorker, visiting Shibuya Crossing felt like stepping into a bigger, cleaner, more organized version of Times Square. It has that same electric, nonstop energy, but it somehow feels more polished and less chaotic. Yes, at the end of the day it is a massive intersection with giant screens and crowds, but it is still such a fun place to spend a few hours. I loved wandering through the surrounding shops and checking out special pop ups, especially the ones under Starbucks Shibuya Scramble Crossing. During my visit there were pop ups for XG and Star Wars, which made the whole area feel even more dynamic. If you are a Disney fan but cannot make it out to the parks, definitely stop by the Disney Store Shibuya Koen Dori nearby. It has the cutest merch and is such a fun little detour. It is one of those iconic spots you kind of have to experience at least once. Cross it a few times, find a high vantage point, grab a drink, explore the side streets. It may remind you of NYC, but it definitely has its own Tokyo rhythm.
