Blue House Okinawa

Making the decision to start studying Japanese at Blue House has been absolutely incredible! Not only do we have a solid curriculum and get in class help with great teachers, we also have the opportunity to work with Japanese students that are learning English. The language exchange portion of class, where we help these students learn English - and they our Japanese - is my favorite! It’s really helpful to hear all of different pronunciations and dialects when you’re learning Japanese. Also, it’s a wonderful place to make friends as well. ✨ The photos are from the Christmas Party, where we played Japanese games, Pictionary, and ate dinner together.

They have helped me so much be comfortable with Japanese! I started not knowing anything to now actually having a conversation in less than a year. Plus the language exchanges are fun and help with practicing.

I had studied a little English before, but I didn't have many opportunities to use it, so I wanted to continue learning English and chose Blue House. Classes are divided by proficiency level, so you can choose a class that suits your level, and there are also classes with convenient times for working adults. The classroom has a homey atmosphere, and the teachers are very kind, so it's easy to ask questions even if you don't understand something or have a small question. The students are both Japanese people who want to learn English and foreigners who want to learn Japanese, so we can ask each other questions and practice conversation. It's also very helpful to learn English expressions used by native speakers rather than textbook English. They also teach pronunciation and intonation, so I recommend it. Plus, outside of class, we have opportunities to study and hang out together at cafes and other places, so it's a great way to make friends. If you're unsure about enrolling, I highly recommend taking a trial class (^^)
