Selina Playa Venao

This place is a gem! Josh (aka Funky Josh, his DJ name) was extremely helpful and Dani is just a breath of fresh air. Both of them made me feel welcome, answered my many questions. Even entertained my desire to work on my Spanish. Highly recommend this surf 🏄‍♂️ + musically enriched getaway

If you're looking for a hostel near the beach with amazing amenities and incredible service, look no further than selina ! The location is unbeatable, offering quick and easy access to the shore. Unfortunately, my stay was far from ideal due to several significant room problems. The humidity was a constant issue, making the room feel damp and uncomfortable throughout my visit. This was compounded by minor flooding in a section of the room, which was quite unpleasant. While the location was generally quiet, the room itself had a persistent and rather stinky odor, which was quite disgusting at times. These issues really detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.

The location is great but everything else was not so great. I got a private room and was so excited but I immediately noticed a damp moldy smell that never went away. Since it’s rainy season my room was crawling with crickets everywhere. While not Selinas fault, I had to leave the next day as it wasn’t doable. They were getting in from all the cracks in the teepee. Everything felt pretty unclean. I don’t think my room was turned over before I arrived because all the bedding was very dirty. I had to use the bathrooms with one eye closed because they were really dingy. As a non-israeli it was an incredibly isolating experience. They all kept to themselves and didn’t acknowledge me at all. There was no one else here that wasn’t Israeli. The staff was great, helpful, attentive, and location was perfect. But to me the other stuff wasn’t worth this.

I flew to Tamarindo Costa Rica for a month of Coworking & Digital Nomad'ing at Selina Tamarindo but was told upon arrival that the coworking space was closed with no further info. So I flew to Playa Venao for a month of serious work but was told Selina Venao Coworking space was out of commission, for modifications. Don't promote a service if you can't deliver it!!
