Mediterraneo Hostal in Asunción is hands down one the best hostels I stayed in Paraguay! The beds were unbelievably comfortable—huge double-size mattresses (a rarity in hostels!) with privacy curtains, making it feel like a mini hotel room. The staff were beyond amazing—super friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. I stayed for over a week and truly felt at home. The kitchen was great for cooking, and I even had friends over for dinner a couple of times. The hammocks were perfect for relaxing, and having a pull-up bar for workouts was a fantastic bonus. The location is super central, which was ideal for me since I had to run some errands at government offices—everything was within easy reach. Whether you're here to explore or just need a cozy place to stay, this hostel has it all. Can’t recommend it enough—if you’re in Asunción, stay here! 🙌

I had to change to a differrnt hostel r im the middle of the night due to hostiity of the manager Victor. The hostel itself is comfortable — wide beds, a green and relaxing atmosphere, large kitchen, soap, towels coworking area for nomads. . Lorenzo, the owner, clearly cares about the place. But sadly, my stay was completely ruined by the manager, Victor (Romanian). His behavior was shockingly rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. He ignored simple guest requests for hours (like making my bed and turning on the air conditioning), treated me with open disrespect, and even yelled at me in front of many guests late at night when I asked about the non properly working aircon, saying I was "annoying him." or while me packing in the middle of the night saying rude t"why are you still here?" I have traveled extensively and never experienced such terrible treatment in a hostel. Victor seems far more interested in showing his authority than doing his job. His attitude was hostile and made the environment unpleasant. I do recommend this hostel because it’s a good place fir a stay in Asuncion— but I believe this manager’s behavior is damaging its reputation. It might be advisable to replace this employee Victor with a friendlier and more eager employee to protect what Lorenzo has worked so hard to build. Truly sad and disappointing experience

This was a great hostel – very clean, with spacious beds, helpful and nice staff, and a beautiful little kitten that made the stay even more charming! Highly recommended for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere ☀️

Quiet place that needs some tidying up. They are renovating and adding some nice touches so that’s great. Check in was attentive but didn’t hear anything from any staff after that. Quiet place with relaxed vibe in a good location. Filtered water on offer is a great!

Noisy at night. Staff sometimes party with buddies in the common area right outside the private rooms into the small hours. When challenged, they said there is no quiet hours policy. On the upside, good hot water in showers.
