The Westin Playa Bonita Panama

We stayed at the Westin Playa Bonita September 9-23, 2025. Our stay may remember why I used to love staying in hotels. The service was wonderful from the time that we stepped into the lobby. The check-in was seamless. The service person immediately took our bags and met us at our room. The lobby was clean, smelled wonderful and had a fantastic view. Our room was cleaned daily, the sheets were changed and the floor was mopped. We utilized most of the hotel services, restaurants and bars. Everyone gave service with a smile. The hotel bar and the pool bar were exceptional. The restaurants were good. Mailin and Alena are worth mentioning for their wonderful service. There was a lady at the pool bar whose service was fantastic but unfortunately I did not get her name. There 2 caveats to this review. I would not suggest using the hotel vans for transportation, they are higher than Uber. I had to ask for additional towels and face towels a couple of times. Otherwise my stay was marvelous and I would absolutely recommend this property.

Hotel was nice, in a beautiful location. The distance to any activities incurred an additional charge for pickup, hence the lower location rating. Staff was friendly and helpful upon our early arrival. I'm grateful we arrived when the tide was out, to see how very rocky the beach is. Seeing the ships waiting for the canal every day was neat. We did not swim in the ocean because of the rocks, but the beach walks were nice and full of shells! There was plenty of seating for the pools and all three were nicely maintained. The room was spacious, the view from the tub was beautiful. The beds, while comfortable, were small. Maybe a full size. I'm just over 5 foot and MY feet hung off the bed. The restaurants were nice, easy to book reservations for the couple that required them and the buffet restaurant had a good variety each day. Bar service inside near lobby while friendly was weird. He disappeared often, leaving and coming back to people waiting. Coffee restaurant has weird hours, not opening until 8am. If you want a slow pace, away from everything feel this is a great place. There are plenty of amenities and a friendly staff throughout to make it so you don’t have to leave at all.

This resort is amazing! From the excellent ocean view from my room to the amenities to the staff, I had a wonderful experience. I especially loved Alan and the team at Starfish Grill. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. They came back two nights in a row because of the service and great food! I will definitely visit this resort again!

The customer service at the Westin is truly unmatched. It all started with a conversation I’ve had over the phone from the lobby. I had some questions and they all helped my as a team to answer my questions and made me feel included and special. I went with Westin in a heartbeat after my phone conversation. Then, I had lunch there and Marilyn was also extremely great in making sure I’ve had everything I needed during my nice time outside eating delicious food. Just wow. Great experience. Looking forward to being back!

She was very attentive throughout the entire meal, anticipating our needs without us having to ask, and always checking in with a warm and genuine smile.
