2 months agoStill this office is giving the worst services. You have to wait for a long time in the cue just to submit hard copies of your documents, which is ridiculous. It is necessary to take and verify all the documents through online. I had to wait 3 hours in 2024 just to submit the hard copies of my documents, which is not only painful, but also unnecessary. I hope the concerned authority will take necessary steps to solve these problems immediately. Moreover, there are lot of notices hanging around various corners of this office. But at the time of submission of application, those directions can be given in straight bold or red marks, so that people can follow those rules.

a month ago07/11/2024: I updated my review to 4 stars because, despite the unpleasant experience during the enrollment process, the authorities managed to deliver my passport within the estimated deadline. I understand the challenges they face in serving a large number of passport seekers, but they could improve the experience by hiring more staff to better manage the demand16/10/2024: Today, I visited the Agargaon Passport Office to submit my application in person. Despite having an online appointment with a specific date and time, it turned out to be quite ineffective. While the online system provides a scheduled date and time, it seems irrelevant in practice. Upon arrival, I had to wait in a long queue amidst a large crowd. The process was managed by a few Ansar members and passport staff who were checking documents offline, indicating a lack of online verification facilities. The number of staff was insufficient to handle the crowd efficiently. After a considerable wait, I managed to submit my documents. However, the process was slow due to the limited number of staff available for document verification.Following the document submission, I was directed to a room(505) for fingerprinting and photographing. Unfortunately, this involved another long queue. I noticed some individuals bypassing the queue with references from senior officers, which was quite frustrating.Despite successfully completing the biometric enrollment, the long waiting times and crowded environment left me with a headache. My Suggestions for Improvement: 1. Better Appointment Management: Reduce the number of appointments scheduled for a single day to avoid overcrowding. 2. Increase Staff: Ensure there are enough staff members to handle document verification and biometric enrollment efficiently. 3. Online Verification: Implement online document checking facilities to streamline the process.By addressing these issues, the service at the Agargaon Passport Office can be significantly improved, making the experience more pleasant for everyone involved.

6 months agoI recently had the misfortune of visiting the Divisional Passport and Visa Office in Dhaka, and I can confidently say it is the worst official experience I have ever encountered. Let me explain why this place is so abysmal.First and foremost, the entire system seems to be designed to extort money from unsuspecting citizens. Workers inside the office collaborate with people outside on the street to expedite the processing of files in exchange for a hefty fee. This "service" is unofficial but makes a significant difference, as it can save you one or two hours of waiting. However, if you attempt to navigate the process on your own, you will likely end up frustrated, unable to get past the "information desk," and might even have to return another day.Secondly, there's a bizarre code name system in place. Everyone, it seems, is referred to as "Shamin," which is confusing and misleading. There's supposedly an actual staff member named Shamin, but the use of this name for everyone adds to the overall chaos and disorganization. The financial aspect of the process is equally frustrating. After paying the unofficial "handsome fee," you still have to cover the official visa fee separately. On top of that, they will demand payment for something called a "Country fee," which feels like just another layer of extortion. It's absolutely ridiculous!Even if you manage to get through these hurdles and receive a delivery slip with a date to come back, the nightmare is far from over. On your return date, prepare to clear your entire schedule. Despite getting a ticket with a number on it, there is no semblance of order or tracking of the numbers. You could easily end up spending the entire day there, waiting in frustration. If you can avoid this office, do so at all costs. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemies. If Google allowed, I would give this place zero stars. Unfortunately, one star is the minimum I can give. Good luck to anyone who has to deal with this place – you'll need it!

11 months agoI recently visited the office to convert my MRP to an e-passport and was pleasantly surprised by the improved organisation compared to previous experiences. They now have two information booths, one located outside the gate and another inside room 106, where helpful staff can answer your questions and guide you through the process. The workload seems more manageable inside the premise now, thanks to the operation of several regional offices, which reduces the pressure on any single location. However, it's still important to be vigilant when reviewing your information before finalising the application, as they still make occasional mistakes, even after careful revisions. You should double-check the information to make sure every information is correct.
